AUTONOMY NODE
The IDE lives in the device.
Point a browser at a Node device on your network and a full IEC 61131-3 environment opens. Nothing to install, no account to create, no traffic leaving your plant.

Self-programmable hardware
The device is the toolchain
On a conventional PLC the programming environment lives on someone's laptop, tied to a licence and a version. Node moves it into the controller itself.
No blessed workstation
No hunting for the one machine with the right IDE version installed. Any browser on the network is the engineering station.
Works air-gapped
Nothing needs to reach the internet. Suited to networks where outbound access is restricted or simply not available.
Serviceable for the life of the machine
The environment ships with the hardware, so a technician years from now opens the same IDE the commissioning engineer used.
Where Node fits
Same OpenPLC toolchain. The difference is where it runs and what it depends on.

Node is the middle option: none of the setup of a local install, none of the dependencies of a cloud platform. If you want project history across a fleet, that is Autonomy Edge, in the cloud or on your own machines. AI assistance is in Autonomy Edge and in the OpenPLC Editor, and it also works on Node when the laptop you are programming from has internet and you are signed in with your Autonomy Edge account.
What Node deliberately leaves out
Running entirely inside the device rules some things out. Better to say so plainly.
No Autonomy CoPilot
AI assistance needs models that do not fit in a controller. Available on Autonomy Edge and in the OpenPLC Editor.
No cloud project storage
Projects and their history live on the device, not in a shared workspace you can reach from anywhere. Available on Autonomy Edge.
No fleet orchestration
You program devices one at a time. Deploying to many machines from one place is what Edge is for.
